Happy New Year from the English Countryside – Slow Living at Along the Garden Path

Bare trees and rooftops in the East of England winter countryside

Hello and welcome to my new blog!

I am writing to you from the East of England, where the countryside is still resting in its winter sleep. The days are slowly getting longer and although the coldest weeks are still ahead, there is already so much quiet beauty to enjoy in the English countryside - peaceful walks, frosty mornings and the first small signs of spring.

Since moving to England over 20 years ago, I have always looked forward to spotting the first snowdrops shortly after the New Year. Daffodils and tulips soon follow, bringing the first colours back into gardens and countryside paths. This year however, the daffodils did not disappoint - they made their first proud appearance already in December.

I hope you have had a lovely Christmas and I would like to wish you a very happy and healthy New Year 2026.

In this little corner of the internet I will be sharing moments of slow living, countryside walks and the quiet beauty of everyday life in England.

See you soon on the blog.
