It looks like we have escaped the sub-zero temperatures during our time away. When we left for Spain only two weeks earlier, England was covered in a magical layer of light snow. It was therefore quite a surprise to be welcomed by such beautiful sunshine on our day out in Cambridge.
The birds are already chirping more lively, and even though it is only the end of January, you can sense the first signs of spring.
Crocuses in various colours and snowdrops are now blooming in Cambridge and you can buy spring bouquets in the shops. People are punting on the River Cam and sitting outside at street cafés. Life feels very enjoyable again.
